Goji Berries - Drying Process |

Our organic goji farms are
located in Ningxia, northwest of China. Each tiny goji berry
has to be picked by hand to avoid damage. |
The berries are then stored in
these baskets out in the fields. |

The berries are brought into the
factory for washing and inspection. |
The berries are then air dried on
wooden trays monitoring the temperature between 90 - 95 degrees F. |
|
|
After drying, the berries are
transported to a clean room for final screening. Damaged and
rotten berries are removed from lot. The berries are then
divided into 3 grades. Super Grade, First Grade and Second
Grade based on the size and quality. |
Caution: Cheaper dried goji berries are sun dried
outdoors 2 - 3 weeks in the fields. Bugs, flies and other insects
can be a serious problem. When using outdoor sun dried goji berries,
it's best to boil the berries at least 5 minutes to kill eggs, larva and
other possible parasites.
